Caja Popular Mexicana reports failures and the CNBV puts it under the magnifying glass

Caja Popular Mexicana, which is regulated by the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV), has more than three million members, close to 482 branches and is in 28 states of the country.

The CNBV issued a statement the day before in which it stressed that it is monitoring Caja Popular Mexicana to follow up on failures.

Caja Popular asked members to call 800 7100 800 to confirm which branches are operating normally. ATMs and cash dispensers work normally as well as transfers via SPEI.

“If your payments are due on the days that the branch was not available, it will be rescheduled once the service is regularized, so that your credit history is not affected,” Caja Popular reported.
