A Russian senator revealed that starting in September, children in two grades will be taught to operate drones
July 24 () –
The British Intelligence services have pointed this Monday to a “renewed emphasis” on the “military initiation” of children in Russia, after a Russian senator affirmed that children will be taught to operate drones, in the framework of the war against Ukraine, unleashed in February 2022.
Russian Senator Artem Sheikin said last week that children will begin to receive education on this point in military training classes, an initiative backed by the Defense and Education ministries that will take effect on September 1 of this year.
Thus, the British Intelligence services have highlighted that these courses “add to training with assault rifles and grenades, as well as first aid in combat, within the framework of a review of the ‘Basic concepts of vital safety’ manual for tenth and eleventh year students”.
“Russia’s renewed emphasis on military induction for boys is largely an effort to cultivate a culture of militarized patriotism, rather than to achieve real capacity,” they said, according to a statement published by the British Ministry of Defense through its website.
Finally, the UK Intelligence services have emphasized that “the inclusion of unmanned aerial device capabilities underlines that Russia has identified the use of tactical drones in Ukraine as an enduring component of contemporary warfare.”
