Insomniac Games Denies Mary Jane Has a New Face in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
Because the studio already has a history of changing the faces of its main characters, a section of the community theorized that a new facial model was hired to design the face of Mary Jane, who looks more adult and with finer features in the sequel.
In response to a user’s Twitter post, James Stevenson, director of community and marketing at Insomniac Games, confirmed that the same face model was used. Likewise, he reaffirmed that the acclaimed actress Laura Bailey reprises the role in the new video game.

With these statements, it seems that the only substantial change that Mary Jane underwent is her hairstyle. We must remember that the original installment debuted in 2018 for PlayStation 4, while Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 It will arrive this year exclusively for PlayStation 5. To some extent, it is understandable that the characters have more realistic faces even though they are based on the same models.
