microsoft has started the deployment of new functionalities for Windows 11 that will allow reading QR and bar codes from the Camera, as well as copying or converting the information from a CD in the multimedia player.
Windows 11 hit the market in October 2021. Since then, the latest version of Microsoft’s operating system you have not introduced any update to your Camera app.
Now, the Redmond company has deployed the new version 2022.2206.2.0 of this application in the Windows Insiders developer channel, as explained on their website. The update has integrated a barcode and QR code reader into the program.
The appearance of the Camera ‘app’ has also changed with this new update and sports a design in line with Windows 11 when using the effect Mica on your background and brand new icons.
Microsoft has also released a new update for Windows 11 Media Player (version 11.2206.30.0), after introducing support for CD playback in March.
Also displayed on the developer channel, this program is capable of ‘ripping’ CDs in the formats AAC, WMA FLAC and ALAC. This process consists of copying or converting the information stored on a multimedia medium to another platform, also of a digital nature.
NATIVE SUPPORT FOR ARM64 IN MOVIES AND TV
The company has also announced the rollout of an update to the Movies & TV app on the developer channel. From version 10.22061 onwards, this program will include native support for Arm64. Thanks to this, Microsoft promises better performance when browsing the application.
Finally, Microsoft has also started to migrate the default opening of video files associated with Movies and TV to the media player. The technology ensures that this process will only affect those types that were previously associated with Movies and TVand only the first time they open the file.
