After the first drop in users that it has suffered in its history, Netflix shares have plummeted more than 47%, which has caused the company to begin exploring other modes of monetization such as the inclusion of a new streaming plan that include advertisements in the broadcast.
While we wait for more details about what that plan will look like, Netflix and Microsoft have made an announcement where they report that Microsoft will be in charge of managing the advertising and sales of the new Netflix subscription plans.
The idea is to offer new ways to access the series and movie streaming service, so it is expected that this new plan will have a more affordable price in exchange for watching ads while we watch its content. This plan will be bundled with the current Ad-Free plans: Basic, Standard, and Premium.
All the ads that will be shown on Netflix will be shown from the Microsoft ad platform, a company that already has an entire advertising infrastructure on Bing and other services.
For its part, from Netflix they have assured that the alliance with Microsoft will allow the creation of a new offer with possibilities and the necessary flexibility to innovate in the ad system while maintaining user privacy.
