Holberton School is an academy born in Silicon Valley that arrived in Colombia in January 2019 and offers a program with a cloud platform for blended training in software development that lasts 9 months.
The promoters of the scholarship found that there is a very large gender gap in the technology industry. For this reason, they seek to encourage women from the Pacific to train in communication, especially in areas where opportunities are scarce.
“Each of us can be part of the change through these scholarships and training programs like the one Holberton offers, to really begin to close the gender gap that we currently have. We invite all the women of these departments to take advantage of this great opportunity that together with the WWB Foundation we are offering”, commented Claudia Guzman, Technical Manager at Holberton Colombia.
The academy has employability rates of 90%, being a hotbed of success stories of participants who have found employment in national and international companies such as Globant, PSL, Endava, Encora, Ayenda, Bancolombia, Davivienda, Banco de Occidente, MercadoLibre, Rappi , Skillshare and Torre among many others, with average salaries above $4.5 million pesos.
Once they finish and get a job with more than 2.5 minimum wages, they must pay the academy with 17% of his salary for 42 installments to support other women who like them want to enter the world of digital technology and Software.
