JD Logistics, one of the leading logistics companies in China, has announced a major partnership with AutoCore.ai, a leading provider of smart mobility software and electrical and electronic architecture solutions for the automotive industry.

Together, these two companies will work on co-building end-to-end, multi-scenario autonomous driving systems specifically designed for the logistics industry.

This partnership represents an important step for JD Logistics in its goal to create a technology ecosystem that brings together automotive parts suppliers and autonomous driving partners.

A founding member of the Autoware Foundation, the world’s largest open source community for autonomous driving, AutoCore.ai plays a key role in advancing the field.

Through this collaboration with AutoCore.ai, JD Logistics will take advantage of the global research and development (R&D) expertise that the company offers.

This partnership will allow JD Logistics to work closely with key players in the industry, coordinating efforts to establish interconnection specifications and standards in areas such as data, algorithms, sensors, applications, computing platforms, tool chains, vehicle-cloud connection, application management. of added value and deployment, among others.

The ultimate goal of JD Logistics is to provide scalable application standards that can be adapted to various logistics scenarios.

Yang Zhang, president of AutoCore.ai and co-founder of the Autoware Foundation, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting JD Logistics’ visionary role in the field of autonomous driving.

Zhang said the collaboration is set to revolutionize the logistics industry and promote significant positive change. Furthermore, he invited more ecosystem partners to join in the pursuit of large-scale deployment of autonomous driving solutions.

JD Logistics has been at the forefront of autonomous vehicle research for last-mile delivery since 2016. Its latest achievement is the Fifth Generation Autonomous Delivery Vehicle, capable of carrying up to 200 kilograms and traveling up to 100 kilometers per charge.

With an advanced R&D team and extensive logistics database, JD Logistics has successfully developed world-leading autonomous driving algorithms specially designed for low-speed logistics.

Recently, JD Logistics’ self-developed algorithm named “MVS-Fusion” reached a milestone in the field of visual autonomous driving algorithms. Using purely visual 3D object detection, the algorithm achieved an exceptional mean accuracy (mAP) of 55.54%, without the need for future frame data.

This remarkable feat positioned JD Logistics at the top of the internationally recognized nuScenes rankings.

Currently, more than 600 JD Logistics autonomous vehicles are operating in 30 cities across China, providing services in various environments such as arenas, shopping malls, and office buildings.

These robots not only provide customers with a wide range of flexible delivery options, but also simplify on-demand delivery services for supermarkets.

Some vehicles are even equipped with advanced hot and cold storage systems, expanding JD Logistics’ ability to deliver a variety of products to doorsteps.

In addition, the fleet includes indoor delivery robots that operate in more than 10 cities, including Beijing and Shanghai, roaming shopping malls and office buildings.
