Cinema and Television | Striking American Actors and Screenwriters Join Forces

Striking American actors and screenwriters join forces. They have staged a series of deliberately loud protests this Friday in front of the headquarters of film, television and streaming companies such as HBO, Amazon and Netflix.

Actors and screenwriters are demanding salary increases in the face of what they consider to be a threat of artificial intelligence for their jobs.

The Screen Actors Guild Screen Actors Guildwhich represents some 160,000 film and television actors, called the strike after last-minute talks with production studio bosses ended without a deal.

Hollywood employers say they have offered salary increases that they describe as “historical“and a proposal on the impact of Artificial Intelligence that has been considered insufficient by scriptwriters and actors.
