The Pakistani Army has detailed in a statement that nine soldiers “have embraced martyrdom” during operations in Zhob, where “a total of five terrorists have been sent to hell.” “The cleanup operation has been completed,” he added.

“The security forces and the nation remain resilient and determined to dismantle all the nefarious attempts of the enemy aimed at destroying the peace in Balochistan and Pakistan,” he stressed.

In the context of the clashes in Zhob, a civilian who was caught in the crossfire has also died, as confirmed by the Zhob district commissioner, Azim Kakar, as reported by the Pakistani newspaper ‘Dawn’.

On the other hand, the Army has indicated that “three brave soldiers” have died in an attack in Sui, an incident that has resulted in the death of two terrorists. “The security forces are keeping up the pressure and the cleanup operation is still underway to capture the rest of the terrorists,” he stressed.

“The security forces will remain immovable to expose and neutralize the enemies of peace in Balochistan and Pakistan,” the Army said. The twelve soldiers killed represent the highest number of deaths in the ranks of the Army in one day so far this year.

A group calling itself Tehrik Jihad Pakistan (TJP) has claimed responsibility for the attack in Zhob, marking its third claim of responsibility for attacks in the area in recent months.

For his part, the Pakistani Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, has paid tribute to the deceased through a statement published on his account on the social network Twitter and has said that “the ongoing war against terrorism is the war of the future of the nation”.
