niantic prepare a new Community Day of Pokémon GO for July focused on Poliwag, the famous Water-type Pokémon from the first generation. The event has been scheduled for July 30 from 2 to 5 in the afternoon. You should not miss it, since the Pokémon has two evolutions and unique movements that you can only get during the indicated hours.
Community Day is a perfect opportunity to fill up your Pokédex, with Poliwag appearing in the wild much more often than usual. Also, if you’re lucky, you might come across a shiny version of Poliwag, which is pale blue in color instead of his usual dark blue.
Take advantage of the event to evolve Poliwag into Poliwrath or Politoed. Poliwrath that evolves during the event will learn Counter Strike, a very powerful fighting attack. On the other hand, if you choose to evolve Poliwag into Politoed, it will learn Ice Beam, an Ice-type attack that has 90 power in trainer battles and raids.

- Eggs will require a quarter of the usual distance to hatch when placed in an incubator.
- Players will receive double Candy for catching Pokémon.
- Trainers level 31 and higher will have double the chance to receive Candy ++ when catching Pokémon.
- Bait Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Incense (except for Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will also last for three hours.
- Players who take snapshots during Community Day may be in for a surprise.
- One additional special exchange is possible, up to a maximum of three per day.
- Trades will require 50% less Stardust.
Raids after Community Day
In addition to the special capture and unique moves, the developer company announced that from 5 to 10 p.m., when you clear a level 4 special raid, more Poliwag will appear for 30 minutes.
Bonuses for completing level 4 raids
When you complete a four-star raid against Poliwhirl, more Poliwag will spawn around the Gym where the raid was held for 30 minutes. With a bit of luck, you just might come across a Shiny!
