Around 200 migrants have been rescued by the maritime rescue ship ‘Humanity 1’, of the German non-governmental organization SOS Humanity, in four interventions carried out since Tuesday afternoon in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, as confirmed by the NGO itself. .

The NGO has stressed that “at this time there are 199 survivors on board ‘Humanity 1’ and has confirmed that the Italian authorities have designated Ancona as the landing port. “It is 1,400 kilometers from the rescue site. They are three days of travel that suppose an unnecessary load for the rescued. A closer port must be assigned immediately,” he added.
