The Palestinian Authority has thanked the Government of Algeria for granting 30 million dollars (about 27 million euros) for the reconstruction of the West Bank city of Jenin, which last week was the target of an operation by the Israeli Army and which ended with at least twelve Palestinians and one Israeli soldier dead.
“The Arab brothers must maintain their political support in international forums in favor of the Palestinian people to allow them to defend their cause, which is the central Arab cause, protect their Muslim and Christian holy places, subject to multiple violations and attempts at Judaization,” he declared. the Palestinian prime minister, Mohamed Shtayé, according to the Algerian agency APS.
“The strong and deep relations of brotherhood, the blood ties and the common destiny that unite the leaders and peoples of the two countries (…) who continue their fight for the protection of their territories, their holy places and their identity to win their legitimate rights, including the creation of an independent state with Al Quds as its capital,” Shtayé added.
For his part, the president of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmud Abbas, has expressed his “deep gratitude” for the help sent by the country’s president, Abdelmayid Tebune, after the “barbaric aggression” by the Israeli Army.
In addition, he has assured that the Palestinian people “will remember the inalienable positions of the Algerian people and Government towards the Palestinians, as well as the political and economic support that they continue to provide to the just Palestinian cause, on the road to the recovery of freedom and independence”.
