Speedrun community unites in support of dog shelter
A report of The Gamer shared information about the speedrunner group No Glitches Allowed calling for the community to come together in support of the Go Rescue dog shelter in Virginia, USA, with which they have long worked. The invitation comes after the shelter disclosed that it is in dire financial straits and its operations are compromised. The response of the players specialized in finishing video games as quickly as possible was immediate and in a matter of days they organized an event that will take place soon.
According to the call, the event in support of Go Rescue will be held from July 29 to 31 and the invitation is open to the entire speedrunner scene, in addition to the fact that there will be no rules, it will only be about gaming sessions, speedrun and fundraising to ensure that the puppies do not become homeless.
In this regard, No Glitches Allowed noted: “Our rescue center provides a safe haven for street dogs, giving them the time, care and love they need to find the right home, not just any home.”
