At least four people have died this morning in the city of Leópolis del western Ukraine as a result of the impact of a Russian missile against a multi-storey building and 60 apartmentsthe Ukrainian Interior Ministry reported today on its Telegram account.
The attack has destroyed the third and fourth floors of the building. At least 32 people have been injured, some very serious, and the rescue services continue to work among the rubble in the possibility of more victims.
The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenskyhas condemned the attack with a message posted on Telegram along with a video of the building partially destroyed by the missile.”There will surely be a response to the enemya tangible response,” wrote Zelensky, who offered his condolences to the families of the victims.

The anti-aircraft alarms had been activated around half past two in the morning in Lviv – of more than 700,000 inhabitants and one of the large Ukrainian urban centers furthest from the front – when the Ukrainian Air Force identified “several enemy missiles heading to the western provinces” from the country.
The Lviv Military Administration announced the explosions that caused the tragedy shortly before 03:00 in the morning local time. According to this source, the attack would have also damaged critical infrastructure, in addition to hitting a residential building.
10 cruise missiles
The Russian attack against Lviv consisted of the launch from aircraft carriers and submarines located in the Black Sea of 10 Kalibr cruise missiles which abruptly changed direction to fool the Ukrainian air defenses.
“Several groups of missiles were identified that first they headed northusing the topography of the area of the dnieper channeland then abruptly changed their direction to the west,” the Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement.
Ukrainian air defenses “could only destroy seven of the 10 missiles Kalibr cruise ship” launched by Russia, adds the note.
At the end of its statement, the Ukrainian Air Force writes: “We need F-16s!“. Ukraine asks its allies to send in the shortest possible time these American-made combat planes designed to launch all kinds of missiles capable of destroying the projectiles launched by Russia.
Western fighters would hit Ukrainian defenses mobility and reaction capacity against all kinds of Russian air attacks.
