Dr. Fernando Zegers Hochschild participates in an international study that evaluates the impact of COVID-19 on the care of health personnel associated with fertility treatments


The director of the Program of Ethics and Public Policies in Human Reproduction of the Diego Portales University, Dr. Fernando Zegers Hochschild, participated in a recent multicenter and international study on the experiences and uncertainty of health personnel responsible for the care of fertility consultants , during the COVID-19 pandemic.

UDP communications.- In previous investigations, complex difficulties had already been detected during this time, caused mainly by the temporary closure of clinics and the delay in fertility treatments. In this sense, the publication sought to measure through a survey the consequences of this interruption in the centers and its effects on the staff after their reopening.

382 people participated in the study, who manifested, among other sequelae, having felt uncertainty due to the threat of COVID-19, the unpredictability of the future, the lack of communication and the change of workplace.
