July 4 () –
Three far-right and far-left parties will not have representation at the table of the Greek Parliament during the recently started legislature, after they have not managed to sneak any of their deputies as vice-presidents in the vote that took place this Tuesday and that precedes the first great speech by the re-elected prime minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The Council of the Hellenes had re-elected Konstantinos Tasoulas, of New Democracy, as president and had in his hand to cover up to ten vice-presidencies. Eight parties obtained representation in the June elections after winning more than 3 percent of the votes, but not all of them have managed to get their candidates a minimum of support to pass the process and gain access to the Parliament table.
The ultra-right Spartans, the Christian fundamentalist Victoria and the leftist anti-system Curso de la Libertad have been left out, reports the newspaper ‘Kathimerini’. Three of the vice presidencies have gone to New Democracy, which achieved a solid victory in the recent elections by obtaining more than 40 percent of the votes and will govern with an absolute majority, again led by Mitsotakis.
