AMD have presented their 7040U series processors, where 4 references have initially been announced, the Ryzen 7 7840U, Ryzen 5 7640U, Ryzen 5 7540U and Ryzen 3 7440U. At the moment we have only found references to the first two and most powerful, but it is said that the 7540U and 7440U will have a new version AMD Phoenix 2. This new and revamped version with Zen 4 cores and RDNA 3 graphics would have managed to reduce its size considerably, due to fewer Zen 4 cores and integrated graphics CUs.
In the picture that it has been possible to seeis appreciated as the new AMD Phoenix 2 feature a smaller diein the same publication of BiliBili they indicate that it corresponds approximately to 2/3 parts of the AMD Phoenix. This new configuration would have a total of 6 Zen 4 cores along with 4 RDNA 3 CUs that would bring to life the integrated graphics of the AMD Radeon 740M integrated.
It seems that soon we will see some laptops or handheld consoles with these new CPUs, since the image shows the comparison of these new AMD Phoenix 2 next to an AMD Phoenix, implying that they have already been sent manufacturers to start production with these new processors.
