Many open fronts

In addition to the Ukraine issue, during its presidency Spain is facing other important issues within the Union, such as the always controversial pact on Migration and Asylumof which there are still important differences between the different member states.

Other issues on which it is expected that progress can be made over the next six months are the modification of the fiscal rules, the reform of the electricity market (of which Spain has been a firm defender at all times) or the revision of the community budget to allocate more aid to Ukraine.

all of it just three weeks before a general election in the country that, Sánchez promises, will not alter the presidential turn.
