We are looking for you!  Network of Specialists Explora La Araucanía opens its 2023 call


The call for the Explora La Araucanía Network of specialists is now open, a call for specialists from various disciplines to join the communities Explora educational institutions, sharing their knowledge through consultancies and instances of knowledge dissemination.

Valentina Traslavina Callejas, Communications Explora La Araucanía.- The invitation is intended for researchers in the natural, social or humanities sciences, artists, traditional cultivators, people linked to technology, innovation or entrepreneurship, among others, who may participate in the Explora programs through the following modalities:

1. Advisors, actively accompanying student teams and their
research projects and school innovation.
2. Disseminators, carrying out workshops and various participatory activities with the
educational communities.

This network seeks to articulate the knowledge of the academic world with the communities
schools, raising needs of the territory, which are addressed jointly
among the various social actors through the Explora Program.

The person in charge of the program, Alexis Catalán, comments that the vision for this new cycle is
“That those who participate in this network can have a relevant experience of linking
with the territory, by contributing to transdisciplinary experiences of school communities that are addressing issues of innovation, research and inquiry of the territories or by carrying content such as workshops or activities”.

Since 2019, Explora La Araucanía has been linked to more than 350 establishments in
the region, linking student projects with experts from various areas.
“During these 5 years, specialists from 12 universities in the country have contributed together with the
Explora La Araucanía team in programs that promote active citizenship and scientific thinking in students, teachers and school teams from the 32 communes of
the region in a practical way and linked to academia, in search of solutions
based on evidence”, explains Catalán.

Explora La Araucanía is a program run by the UC Center for Local Development
(Cedel UC) of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Campus Villarrica, and financed
by the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation.
