An overclocker manages to raise the frequency of an RTX 4090 up to 3945MHz

Splave, a relatively famous overclocker, has managed in conjunction with ASUS to get the overclock world record for a GPUbecause although the previous record of 3930MHz was already worthy of admiration, in this case we are just a few megahertz away from reaching 4GHz, with a frequency of 3945MHz.

However, it should be noted that this frequency has been obtained with liquid nitrogen in a Kingpin TEK-9 Icon Extreme V5 LN2 block and nothing more and nothing less than 6 heaters from Elmor Labs to prevent condensation from wreaking havoc on the rest of the graphics card PCB.

Likewise, this frequency has been obtained in a stable way in GPUPi, a benchmark that has allowed the RTX 4090 –a yet to be released ASUS ROG MATRIX— calculate 32,000 million decimal places of the number Pi in just 46,077 seconds. This specific card has not been used at this frequency for 3D applications, so it is unknown what its performance would be.

One of the most important aspects is that the graphics card has not been modified to perform this feat, so it is possible that once it is released, any overclocker unafraid to modify the card can win the trophy of being the first to reach 4GHz on a GPU.
