Invite to a seminar on experience and recommendations of research in the educational field


On July 4, a seminar will be held at the University of Santiago de Chile (USACH) in which five leading researchers in the field of education who lead FONDECYT projects will present themselves.

Lorenzo Palma, Science in Chile.- A panel made up of researchers from the University of Santiago, the University of Chile and the University of Tarapacá will meet on July 4 at the USACH Hall of Honor, to reflect and share experiences regarding research in education.

The framework of the activity is part of the Regular FONDECYT directed by Dr. Juan Bautista Abello, with the research “Corporate sustainability and the role of the superior councils of state universities: importance of the materiality of information”.

Notable participants include academics María Beatriz Fernández, Carolina Stefoni, Dante Castillo and Francisco Ganga. The seminar day is open to all those interested in the subject of education, providing the opportunity to learn from the experience and knowledge of these leading experts. The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m.

The organization is in charge of the University of Tarapacá (UTA), the University of Santiago (USACH), the Interuniversity Institute for Educational Research (IESED-Chile) and the Interdisciplinary Research Program (PIIE).

During the seminar, different topics related to educational research will be addressed. Some of the outstanding presentations include the influence of policy definitions, institutional changes and individual motivations in entering pedagogy careers, by Dr. María Beatriz Fernández from the University of Chile. The trajectories, educational persistence and re-schooling processes of children and adolescents attended in Adult Education programs will also be discussed, presented by Dr. Dante Castillo.

During the seminar, relevant topics will be addressed, such as the routes and trajectories of Venezuelan migrants in the Conosur, when the doors begin to close, presented by Dr. Carolina Stefoni at 11:00 a.m. The importance of corporate sustainability and the role of the superior councils of state universities will also be discussed, emphasizing the materiality of the information, presented by Dr. Juan Abello-Romero at 11:30 am. In addition, the impact of leadership and the organizational climate on the research results of the universities of Chile will be analyzed, by Dr. Francisco Ganga-Contreras at 12:00. These presentations will offer an enriching and varied vision of key aspects in the educational and research field.

Dr. Abello explains that the event will encourage the exchange of knowledge and experiences among the participants, providing the opportunity to learn from researchers with extensive experience in the educational field. “The seminar seeks to contribute to the advancement and development of educational research, providing recommendations and reflections that can improve the capacities to carry out Fondecyt Regular projects in this area”, he concluded.
