June 27 (Portaltic/EP) –
Google will facilitate the Pixel Fold self-repairs through the iFixit community, making this device the first foldable device to enable guides and replacement parts for users to fix certain items.
The technology company announced in April of last year that it would facilitate spare parts and guides to consumers and independent professional repairers to perform the most common repairs on company phones, on all Pixel phones.
This initiative is carried out in partnership with the iFixit community in the countries of the European Union where the Pixels are marketed, as well as in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. And it will be extended to cover Pixel Fold self-repairs.
Pixel Fold will be the first foldable device in offering guides and spare parts to carry out self-repairs, and change elements such as the battery, the screen -including the interior- and the charging port, as Google has confirmed to 9to5Google.
Google officially introduced the Pixel Fold in May, during its annual Google I/O developer event, but its availability is limited; It will only go on sale in United States, United Kingdom, Japan and Germanywith a price of 1,899 euros in the latter country.
