When we think of video games, high-profile AAA offerings or indie titles with outstanding art style quickly come to mind. However, sometimes it is the simplest experiences that capture the public’s attention. As proof of the above, we have the case of wordlea word guessing game that, due to its popularity, will soon receive an official physical version.
In case you don’t know, wordle It gained a lot of visibility earlier this year thanks to users sharing their results on social networks like Twitter. Shortly after, creator Josh Wardle sold the project to The New York Times, one of the largest newspapers in the United States and the world.
The months passed and the unique puzzle title remains one of the most popular experiences on the market, so it was a matter of time before a company decided to enter into a commercial relationship with those responsible for the project to launch a physical version.

This will be Wordle: The Party Game
Through a Press release (via polygonal), Hasbro and The New York Times announced a new partnership that resulted in Wordle: The Party Gamethe official board game based on the word guessing video game.
The physical version of the puzzle game will cost $19.99 USD and will be available in North America starting next October 2022. Unfortunately, there is no word on a hypothetical international release, so we will have to wait to find out if it will come to other regions. Meanwhile, preorders are already active on the official website of the project.
“We know that people love to have a game night and invite their friends to play. They are social experiences, so it’s a way to share, connect and create memories,” said Adam Biehl, senior vice president and general manager of Hasbro Gaming.
Of course, Wordle: The Party Game will have some special rules that will set it apart from its video game counterpart. For example, a player will be the “Wordle Host”, who will be in charge of writing the secret word that the competitors will have to discover. Of course, there will be a limit of attempts to guess the correct answer. Finally, and as expected, there will now be no more session limits, so competitors can play more than once a day.
