The implosion of the OceanGate company’s Titan submarine has shocked the world, and the gaming community is no stranger to this tragedy. As a tribute to the victims, a developer has released a mod to make players of Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) on computer have the aquatic vehicle that was reported missing in a tourist exploration to the Titanic.
The content generator SkylineGTRFreak posted a YouTube video of how the ship looks and operates in the deep sea off Los Santos. As it is a new version of the existing submarines in GTA Vthe hatch is at the top and only one player can enter it.
The man behind the mod pointed out that he has customized the collision model so that players do not suffer from ghost impacts. He also added special functions like activating the lights. Roughly speaking, the Titan drives in the same way as the submarine added in the Cayo Perico DLC.
How to access the GTA V MOD
Players will have to use Open IV to extract the game’s DLC list file, edit the file to add the mod, and use a trainer to generate it. Next we specify each installation step from this link.
- Place the “subtitan” folder in [Carpeta del juego]\update\X64\dlcpacks\
- With OpenIV, extract [Carpeta del juego]\update\update.rpf\common\data\dlclist.xml and edit it with Notepad++. Add the following entry: dlcpacks:\subtitles\
- Now that you’re done, you’ll need a trainer with the “spawn by name” function (improved native trainer for example) to spawn the vehicle type in: “subtitan”.
It is not the first time that SkylineGTRFreak has created mods based on real life events, such as the recreation of the Chinese spy balloon that shocked the Pentagon several months ago.
