As expected, netizens were quick to share their review and the site already has a large number of negative reviews.
At the time of writing the note, the game has 2,248 user reviews, of which 1,622 are positive (greater than 7). However, almost a third (521 reviews) are negative and 105 are mixed.

The number of negative reviews stands in stark contrast to the 88 average critic reviews. In total there are 108 critic reviews; none of them is negative; only 8 are mixed and the rest are higher than 7.
Many reviewers who gave negative ratings argue that the main reason why final fantasy 16 earned that qualification is because its direction does not deviate from the essence of the series to such a degree that some mention that “it is not a final fantasy“.

This is not an isolated case, it happens with Xbox and Nintendo titles as well and apparently it is only done to try to discredit competing games or prevent their rating from being positive. In the end, what it causes is that users no longer take other users’ reviews seriously, which is unfortunate.
