Regarding the internal consumption of the product, this indicator registered a growth of 5% at the end of May.
This represented an increase of 8 thousand 60-kilogram equivalent bags of green coffee compared to the previous year. That is, it went from consuming 163,000 bags to 171,000, despite inflation.

The FoNC also pointed out that in the last 12 months the climatic variables that affect coffee production have impacted the flowering and filling processes of the grain in the coffee zone of the country.
Additionally, the average daily temperature present in the coffee production areas decreased, which increases the number of days required to complete the formation and ripening processes of the fruit. This led to a reduction in the harvest and a delay in it.
