railway has formalized a strategic alliance with the Spanish technology company Sngular to develop joint solutions that transform the infrastructure sector through digital products based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), guaranteeing digitization with a “sustainable impact” in this industry, as they have explained to through a statement.
Within the framework of this strategic collaboration, both companies will jointly develop digital products that, using these innovative technologies, allow the digitization and optimization of Ferrovial operations. “This will make sustainable and safe development possible in the construction and infrastructure management market,” the note added.
“This agreement represents another step in our goal of leading the transformation of the infrastructure sector. The combination of technologies such as the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence applied to our industry will improve the way we operate and the service we provide to citizens,” said Dimitris Bountolos, General Director of Information Systems and Innovation at Ferrovial. .

A TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPED IN SPAIN
Ferrovial and Sngular have been working together on different projects since the year 2018, something that have materialized in critical process improvements such as the estimation of costs in tenders, the control of operations in construction works, and the safety of infrastructures.
It is expected that the technology that arises from this union will be developed in Spain and used in the different business units of Ferrovial in all the markets in which it operates, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia, among others. It also includes the possibility of scaling the product outside the company.
The union highlights the company’s commitment to innovation and digitization as growth vectors. Following its Digital Horizon 2024 strategy, and with the aim of strengthening the business and its transformation, Ferrovial seeks to promote a new generation of sustainable transport infrastructure and offer effective solutions, as well as advanced management throughout the entire asset cycle.
To this end, it has recently promoted different projects, such as the AIVIA Smart Roads, created to develop 5G smart roads, as well as different initiatives in the field of connected work, such as earthworks.
