June 20 (EUROPA PRESS) –
A 48-year-old Palestinian man has succumbed to gunshot wounds caused during the operation carried out by the Israeli Army on Monday in the West Bank city of Jenin, raising the death toll in the clashes to six.
The man has been identified as Amhad Aref al Jaas, according to medical sources consulted by the Palestinian news agency Wafa, which has indicated that another hundred people were injured, 22 of whom are in serious condition.
Among the deceased is a minor, identified as Ahmad Saqer, 15, while the rest of the deceased are Qais Majdi Adel Yabarin, 21; Khaled Azam Esasa, 21; and Qasam Faisal abu Sarya, 29.
The incursion of the Israeli troops led to intense confrontations that included shots by a military helicopter against “armed people” to try to facilitate the exit of the military from the area after an attack with explosives against their vehicle.
Monday’s day was marked by violence in the region, counting another young man who died overnight due to clashes with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in Husan, a town located nine kilometers from the West Bank city of Bethlehem.
The spokesman for the Palestinian government, Ibrahim Melhem, has denounced that the “bloodshed continues throughout the country” and that the Israeli forces “continue to commit their crimes without the slightest respect for international laws or human norms.”
