Palestinian prisoners postpone indefinite hunger strike after progress in negotiations with Israel

The Committee of Palestinian Administrative Detention Prisoners announced this Saturday the postponement of the indefinite hunger strike that was to begin this Sunday after announcing that Israel has agreed to some of their demands. However, they have warned that this is the “last chance”.

The prisoners have explained that the Israel Prison Service has accepted several of their demands at the meeting held last Wednesday, but that one of them still remains.

“After consulting with the Committee of Prisoners in Administrative Detention, it has been decided to give an opportunity to dialogue (…) in the session scheduled for the beginning of next month,” the Society of Palestinian Prisoners pointed out in a statement collected by the news agency wafa palestinian news

At least 1,080 Palestinians, including three women and 19 minors, are in administrative detention in Israeli prisons, a regime that allows authorities to detain terror suspects without charge or trial for renewable intervals that typically range from three to six months. , which means in practice their indefinite detention without trial.
