The event “Matchmaking actions: showcases in green technologies”, carried out exclusively online, will take place from June 22 to 28, 2023. The event is promoted by the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) of Brazil, in conjunction with the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC) of Brazil, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the Euroclima+ Program of the European Union, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Center for Management and Strategic Studies (CGEE), the Action AL INVEST Verde DPI and the Royal Danish Embassy in Brazil.
The presentations of green technology showcases are part of the actions to promote the business environment in green technologies: innovation, intellectual property and sustainabilitywithin the scope of the project “Building a national and regional strategy for the development and adoption of sustainable technologies”, led by INPI Brazil and implemented by ECLAC with the support of the European Union through Euroclima+.
The matchmaking actions have been carried out over the course of approximately four months. Initiated in March 2023, preparatory activities were developed that result in public presentations (showcases) of the technologies and projects identified, in parallel with business rounds and closed bilateral matchmaking dialogues between the parties that demand and offer technologies, seeking to bring and converge mutual interests.
The objective is to promote innovation in green technologies, connecting suppliers (suppliers) with demanders in Latin America and Europe and, in this way, contribute to promoting green technologies and solutions, mainly those that reduce climate impact, in these regions. The concept is to bring together science and technology institutions, such as universities and research and development centers, incubators and companies to promote the creation of commercial alliances and/or the development of joint technological projects in the field of green technologies, with a focus in renewable energy, green hydrogen, sustainable agriculture and waste management.
The event is mainly aimed at suppliers and demanders of green technologies in Europe and Latin America (especially Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay). For technology providers, it will be an opportunity to disseminate information about their products/technologies to a selected technical and target audience, as well as to network and receive feedback from potential customers. Those in need of technology will also be able to learn about technological advances in their area of expertise and potentially find solutions to their challenges.
There will be simultaneous translation into Portuguese, English and Spanish.
