Four Israelis wounded in an armed attack near a settlement in the northern West Bank

At least four Israelis were injured this Tuesday in an attack carried out around a settlement located near the West Bank city of Jenin (north), as confirmed by the Magen David Adom (Red Star of David) ambulance service.

The agency has pointed out in a message on its account on the social network Twitter that the four injured are in a “moderate” state and has added that two of them have been hit by splinters from the bullets fired during the incident.

The Israeli Army has highlighted that the shots were fired from a moving vehicle at the Efes crossing, between the settlements of Mevo Dotan and Hermesh. “The military have begun to pursue the terrorists and a shooting has broken out,” he said, before pointing to the road blockade in the area to try to capture those responsible.

For his part, the president of the Samaria Regional Council, Yosi Dagan, spoke of a “difficult incident” with “many victims”, before denouncing “an abandonment” of residents in the area, where they had been for nearly two weeks An Israeli died after being shot, as reported by the Israeli newspaper ‘The Jerusalem Post’. The man, identified as Meir Tamari, was shot several times inside his vehicle and, although he managed to continue driving to Hermesh, he died hours later.
