The WHO representative in Somalia, Malik Mamunur, has stated that they condemn “all attacks against innocent civilians and humanitarian aid workers”, while conveying his condolences to the families of the deceased.

For his part, the WHO regional director for the Eastern Mediterranean, Ahmed al Mandhari, has been “appalled by the tragic loss of life in this senseless attack, including the death of Nasra Hassan”, a 27-year-old official from the organization.

Al Mandhari, who explained that the official joined the country office to support emergency response operations to the drought, acknowledged that Hassan was known among her colleagues for her dedication, ambition and commitment.
