More than 4 million people in Colombia must renew their driving licenses before June 20.

59% of renewals must be given in the following departments: antioch with 708,124 licenses to renew; followed by Valley, with 619,991; Bogota, with 595,758; Santander, with 299,799; and Cundinamarca, with a total of 160,923 drivers to renew.
Other departments with a significant number of licenses to renew are: Atlántico with 164,608, Risaralda with 139,835, Caldas with 128,006, Meta with 125,156 and Bolívar with 109,265.

Licenses issued before 2012 did not have an expiration date, having an indefinite validity. Because of this there is uncertainty regarding who are the citizens who must carry out this procedure.
And the official thing is that those who must do it are: Drivers whose licenses do not have a printed expiration date must complete their renewal process before June 20.

The validity of the different license categories vary according to the age of the driver: those under 60 must renew their license every 10 years, those over 60 every 5 years and those over 80 must renew their license annually. In the case of public service drivers, the validity is 3 years. Those licenses that expired between January 1 and 31, 2022 also fall within this maximum renewal period.

The platform milicencia.co has 173 driver recognition centers in the aforementioned departments, which are available to the public to expedite the renewal process.
