Tokyo International Airport partially closes due to casualty-free contact between two planes on the runway

June 10 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Tokyo International Airport has announced this Saturday the partial suspension of its operations for two hours due to a contact between two passenger planes on the runway, which has not left any victims.

The slight crash took place between a plane from the Thai airline Thai Airways, with 260 passengers on board, and another plane from the Taiwanese airline Eva, with 200 occupants. However, the contact was enough to cause some damage to a wing of the first aircraft.

For this reason, the security authorities of the airport (also known as Haneda airport) decided to paralyze the aircraft and suspend operations on the affected runway for about two hours, pending the removal of the aircraft and the subsequent cleaning of the asphalt, reports the official Japanese news agency Kyodo.
