From Dragon Ball to Sand Land: Akira Toriyama presents his new game

Dragon Ball Super It’s not the only Toriyama product on the market. The mangaka always works hand in hand with bandai namco to adapt his work to video games for all consoles and in 2023 a new title called Sand Land will arrive.

During the event that was broadcast on Twitch and YouTube Summer Game Fest 2023, the Japanese company shared the images of a new IP that bears the name of Sand Land. When Toriyama’s name appeared, many gamers thought that it was images from Budokai Tenkaichi 4; however, it was a completely new game.

“Play as the Demon Prince, Beelzebub, and go on an adventure using your wits, strength, and vehicles to save SAND LAND!”, details the official description of the game.

We see at the beginning of the trailer a post-apocalyptic world, where part of the Earth is covered with sand. Immediately after, we see a series of clips of the characters’ crazy adventures with Akira Toriyama’s trademark futuristic machines.

At the moment, it is known that it is a game of the single player action RPG genre. Despite not having a release date, it will arrive sometime in 2023 on PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Series X and computers.

“Immerse yourself in a desert world where both humans and demons suffer from extreme water shortages. Play and watch as the Demon Prince, Beelzebub, Sheriff Rao and the demon Thief go on an adventure in search of a legendary source hidden in the desert”, adds Bandai Namco about the game.

One of the biggest draws to Sand Land is the wide variety of tanks and vehicles that Toriyama has created. You will be able to combine pieces, improve your combat arsenal and strengthen your base of operations with the people you meet along the way.
