Vimeo has announced the closing your TV appswhich will mean its withdrawal from the application stores where until now they were available and the end of support for software and security updates.
Vimeo is a platform for audiovisual content that offers from the possibility of uploading video and making live broadcasts to functions of screen recording and interaction with the audience.
The platform has decided to withdraw the applications for Android TV, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Roku, something that will cash next June 27th with the end of its support, as reported in your help page.
The technology company will remove the applications from the respective app stores where they can currently be found. has also confirmed that there will be no new ‘software’ or security updates.
Users who want to continue accessing this platform on their televisions will be able to do so from the Free iOS and Android apps or from a compatible browser. It will also be possible to broadcast the contents of a mobile to the television through AirPlay and Chromecast.
The closure of the ‘apps’ for TV responds to a review and cleaning of inherited products and functions that the company carries out from time to time, when it considers that “are no longer consistent” with your standards.
“We believe that users who want to watch Vimeo videos will receive a better continuous experience by streaming through our mobile application, which will allow them to enjoy Vimeo content on their television,” they explain in the statement.
