1 in 3 young gamers would rather watch Twitch than watch a movie or series

Twitch and its content creators are a massive phenomenon that is gradually conquering more audiences. In fact, it is an immensely popular entertainment among young people to the extent that a third of them prefer to watch Twitch before spending time on Netflix watching a movie or series.

In it, he reveals that 1 in 3 gamers from Generation Z (young people between 14 and 23 years old) prefer to watch games on platforms such as Twitch or YouTube before dedicating time to movies and series.

It is worth mentioning that this type of content is immensely popular among Spanish gamers. We say this since 25% of video gamers in this country of all age groups prefer to watch streaming video game content before consuming series or movies offered by services such as Netflix or Prime Video.

“Videogames are not a static leisure activity, but rather a constantly growing and evolving phenomenon that seeks to position itself as entertainment for a growing number of people,” said Alicia Vicente, Brand & Communications Manager at PcComponentes. “We are experiencing a greater diversity of entertainment options through gaming that goes beyond the game itself thanks to a greater interest in streaming and associated audiovisual content.”

On the other hand, the study indicates that 47% of the players surveyed in this study spend between 1 and 2 hours a day gaming. Thus, it is clear that video games are part of the daily life of more and more people, who see it as a way to entertain themselves and enrich their lives.
