Rubén Doblas Gundersen, better known as El Rubius on the internet, is one of the most popular Spanish content creators in the world. Although he is currently very focused on his streamer side on Twitch, we must remember that he found fame thanks to his YouTube videos. However, the channel that started it all could be at risk.
A few days ago, the Spanish influencer turned to his Twitter account to expose a situation that bothered him. Specifically, he disclosed that YouTube removed 15 old videos from its main channel due to a copyright claim. Apparently, he used copyrighted music.

They delete 15 videos from his main channel and El Rubius is enraged
In a series of tweets, El Rubius stated that many of these videos had not generated income for him for years, since the profits were kept by those responsible for the songs. According to him, he prefers to use copyrighted tunes to create more “special” content, even if it means losing monetization.
“But monetizing it for years scratching every last cent and then erasing part of my history seems low to me. What I don’t understand is how YouTube allows these things. They create an automatic system where they detect if you use content with Copy so that the record companies can monetize your content for years, but then they also have the right to delete the videos whenever they please”, the influencer stated.
Well, they just deleted 15 huge videos from my main channel for Copyright. 15 videos that I was very fond of.
They are videos that have been monetizing those of @BMG for YEARS and for which I have not seen a penny, and after lining up, now they go and erase them forever. pic.twitter.com/tQK8RaH9Z3

The video of 50 THINGS ABOUT ME, which they have been monetizing since 2014, is another example of videos that it hurts me that they have deleted without any kind of meaning or explanation. And examples like that, there are plenty. pic.twitter.com/3vo1s56FWd

Rubén Doblas affirms that it hurts him that special videos such as Portería Challenge and 50 Cosas sobre Mí, which accumulated millions of views each, disappeared from his YouTube channel “without any kind of sense or explanation.”
“I have never talked about it because I have always assumed the risk of creating a more ‘special’ video in exchange for the monetization being taken by others, but this erasing part of my life seems unfortunate and sad to me,” said the creator of content.
The main channel of El Rubius could be at risk
In a live broadcast, El Rubius attacked the record companies and the artists who cause the videos to be removed from the platform. He argues that the musicians get free exposure and publicity, plus they get all the revenue that the videos generate. On the other hand, he stated without mincing words that, in the event of another infringement, his main YouTube channel could disappear forever.
Rubius: “I’m worried that if they send me one more copyright infringement on my main YouTube channel they can delete my main channel forever”

While it remains to be seen how this case will play out, it appears there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We say this because the official YouTube account on Twitter contacted the content creator.
