Android 14 will allow you to check the battery status of your mobile phone in greater detail

As with iOS devices, it seems that Google will definitely allow us to check specific battery details on our device.

One of the most applauded features of the iOS operating system for iPhones is that we can know the status of the phone’s battery at all times.

This is essential, because the information provided to us is tremendously valuable, so that we know if it is time to change the battery of our device or not.

Android users have been waiting for a similar feature for a long time, and it seems that it will definitely come with the advent of Android 14.

Although this feature of verifying the battery already appeared above in beta versions of Android 13, now returns in the preview version of Android 14. And it is that Google has added some APIs that can transmit key battery details.

All the details that could be provided about battery usage

Key battery details collected by this API include the battery’s manufacturing date, first use date, charging policy, health status, cycle count, and state of charge.

So basically apps could even call these APIs to get information about your device’s battery.

At the moment this functionality of checking the battery status in Android 14 is not directly available for testing, but if Google bets on it, it will begin to have a greater presence in the next preliminary versions.

And it is that the existence of the API is a sign that those of Mountain View are working on the function, and that they intend to launch it one day, and hopefully it will already be available with the release of Android 14.
