Noctua could not miss this 2023 edition of Computex in Taipei and has set up its stand with all the news that they have prepared to launch soon.
One of those novelties is the renewal of its mythical NH-D15 heatsink, one of the most capable and recognizable high-performance air coolers for CPUs on the market. This Second generation Noctua NH-D15 modifies several aspects of the first generation to achieve more performance, for example, now the block of aluminum fins has been redesigned with a smaller fin pitch of 1.6 mm compared to 1.9 mm of the previous generation, achieving 20% more dissipation surface.
Another significant change is that we went from 6 to 8 copper heatpipes Nickel coated to transfer heat from its base to the aforementioned block of aluminum fins. Taking advantage of the redesign, the anchoring system has been updated to SecuFirm2+ with support for socket AM5 using torx screws and a screwdriver included.
The design has also been modified to reduce its depth by 9mm and not sit as close to graphics cards that are placed in the PCI Express x16 ports near the socket. In addition, the fans that it will integrate are the new generation of 140 mm with better performance.
The second generation Noctua NH-D15 will arrive during the second quarter of 2024, so we will still have to wait a bit to get hold of it. It will arrive with Noctua NT-H2 thermal paste and NA-TPG1 cover application system.
