Google introduces Reading Mode for Desktop in Chrome 115 beta

Google has launched the new beta version of its latest iteration for its browser, which is called Chrome 115which introduces the new Reading Mode for Desktop, that is, for computers.

This system offers a distraction-free view of a web page, improving the user experience by remove elements from it, such as videos, images or advertisements, which can interrupt reading.

The company commented at the end of March that it was working on implementing this format in the desktop Chrome browser and the ChromeOS operating system, from version 114, which reached users a few days ago.

So, he specified that this customizable view would be integrated in the side configuration panel of the interface and that with it he intended to make the content more accessible for people with special needs, such as people with dyslexia.

From Android Police have now verified that the latest beta version of Chrome 115 incorporate this featurewhich remains in its Desktop version, thus confirming that in principle it will not reach other modalities, such as the one intended for ‘smartphones’.

This portal has commented that the reading mode button can be displayed by default for those who have access to this beta, although it can also be forced to appear using the command chrome://flags/#read-anything.
