Despite the redoubled current efforts of the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell to strengthen the relationship between the European Union and Havana, Cuba is opening up more and more to Russia. MEP Javier Nart believes that in this case the strategic reasons count more than the economic ones, since “for the leaders of the regime their own survival is much more important than the survival of the economy.”
