Inevitable! Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 already stars its first controversy

:D

After a long wait, Insomniac Games and Sony presented during the last PlayStation Showcase an extended trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the new video game of the arachnid superhero. The reception was very positive and the hype is through the roof, but a sector of the community complained about an element present in the final stages of the trailer.

The trailer shed some light on the story that we will see in this new video game and showed several minutes of gameplay. So, we already know that Peter Parker will have new powers thanks to the symbiote’s black suit and that it will be possible to play as Miles Morales, who will also have new abilities available to him.

During the final bars of the official trailer, we see a chase taking place around the East River in New York City. It’s certainly a fast-paced action-packed sequence that’s immediately reminiscent of the franchise. Uncharted. However, the effect of the water raised a pair of eyebrows.

Players criticize the water in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

In the hours after the presentation, users began to criticize the water effect of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and they attacked Insomniac Games for the alleged poor quality of the visual section.

Specifically, people claimed that the splash effect was bad, that the water looked unrealistic, and that Miles Miles is dry even though he is submerged in water. There were also those who compared the graphics to those of a PS3 game. “Not what I expected from a PlayStation 5 game from Insomniac Games. It clearly needs a lot more time. Delay it,” wrote one user.

“The gameplay of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 looks great but some of the animations and visuals for the water and explosions looked bad,” one person commented on Twitter.

Of course, these criticisms are valid and each person has the right to express their opinion. However, it is striking that this is the second time that the franchise has received criticism for a water-related issue. In the months prior to the release of the original installment of Marvel’s Spider-Mangamers criticized the developers because a couple of puddles featured in the E3 2017 trailer were conspicuously absent in a more recent trailer.

In any case, it is worth remembering that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 It is still in development, so Insomniac Games can change the water effect and many more elements before the official release, which is presumed to take place in the fall of this year.

But tell us, do you think these criticisms are justified? Do you think water looks bad in the game? Let us read you in the comments.
