Intel also is working with Microsoft to carry Artificial intelligence to personal computers with Windows 11. Unlike AMD, which has already included a dedicated AI module in its Ryzen 7040 processors, Intel is Showcasing a sneak peek at the AI-enabled capabilities that its next-generation Intel Meteor Lake will offer. This will usher in new AI-powered capabilities and features for home users.
Thanks to the chiplet-based design of this next generation, it has been possible add a neural VPU, a dedicated AI engine built into the SoC. Thanks to this, the Intel Meteor Lake will be able to offer advanced features combined with the processor’s powerful CPU and GPU accelerators. Together with Windows 11, they will be able to run AI models like ONNX Runtime and more powerful machine learning. It will also be possible boost effects included in Microsoft Studiosuch as background blur, automatic eye framing and voice.
Microsoft and Intel are also working to carry out in the future new AI-powered features to Windows 11, which will bring new experiences to home PC users. Intel aims ship millions of Meteor Lake units with its dedicated AI engineto make the additional power of Artificial Intelligence available to users.
But to be able to test these new advantages, we will have to wait for Intel to launch this next generation of processors, which expected for the second half of this year.
