Edge Browser will have a Gaming Mode

From the outset, hearing that a browser has a gaming mode is somewhat strange, but it is not so strange if we take into account the rise of gaming systems in the cloud, or web applications used for online communication during games such as Discord, and even streaming systems like Twitch. In addition, browsers have become highly resource-intensive programs such as CPU and memory, and can affect the performance of games running on the PC.

That is precisely what Microsoft is testing in the beta program of its edge browser (based on Chromium). Several users of the beta program have updated to the new version which shows an option called “Edge for Gamers”.

At the moment, all the browser does is go into dark mode, open the Edge plugin store, and show access to the Twitch and Discord apps. In addition, an option that reads "Improve the gaming experience on your PC with efficiency mode" is activated.

This function should reduce the consumption of the browser if it detects that we are playing, although it is a function that is already available in the stable version of Chrome.
