Geospatial Media recognizes professionals and organizations for their immense contributions and services to the global geospatial industry. The Geospatial Ambassador award has been given to the likes of Jack Dangermond, Geoff Ziess, Ed Parsons and Greg Scott in the past. This award recognizes the important contribution in the promotion and leadership of the geospatial community at a national, continental and global level through his proactive leadership as Vice President of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography of Mexico (INEGI); President of UN – GGIM: Americas; Co – President of the UN – GGIM and architect of the Capacity Development Program for the Caribbean Countries. Rolando Ocampo has continually strived to develop the connections and network within the geospatial ecosystem by overcoming the existing gaps between government agencies. , the private sector and academia, both nationally and internationally. In addition, it has also been providing leadership to connect and integrate Earth observation with the geospatial information platform. Hosting the GEO Plenary Session in partnership with the private sector set precedents for the establishment of the platform to bring value from information integration geospatial with the Earth Observation Group, as well as defining models for public-private collaboration.
