A large set of users with HP OfficeJet printers are seeing how a faulty software update is directly breaking them.
Users with a Hewlett Packard printer do not win for disappointment, and in recent days it is being reported that a recent software update, which is downloaded automatically to the printers, is directly making them useless.
This is an update released at the beginning of the month for the printers HP OfficeJet that is causing problems for any of these devices, basically breaking them completely.
All these complaints can be seen in the official HP support forumsand it has been in the last hours when the company has recognized the failure, adding that they are already working on a solution.
After downloading the faulty software, the built-in touch screen on these printer models displays a blue screen with error code 83C0000B.
There seems to be no way to fix a printer affected by this error, basically because the factory reset requires interacting with the printer’s touch screen, which doesn’t work.
A solution is in the works
So the customers of HP OfficeJet they report that the only solution is basically to send the broken printer to the company for repair.
Affected printers include OfficeJet 902x models, including Pro 9022e, Pro 9025e, Pro 9020e All-in-One and Pro 9025e All-in-One variants. If you have any of these printers, it’s best to disconnect them from the Internet so the faulty update doesn’t get downloaded.
As HP itself has confirmed and they have collected from BleepingComputer: “Our teams are working diligently to address the blue screen error that is affecting a limited number of HP OfficeJet Pro 9020e printers. We recommend customers experiencing the error to contact our customer support team for assistance.”.
After the recent security update that causes printers to no longer work with third-party cartridges, users of these devices do not win for surprises.
