The multiplayer horror game (4 against 1) Dead by Daylight has the future assured. The title developed by Behavior Interactive will not only enjoy a seventh year with a complete roadmap (which includes the addition of Nicolas Cage), but will also expand its universe and mythology with two new games in the form of spin-off.

The first of two projects in the Dead by Daylight universe is in the hands of Supermassive Games, and is an interactive story for a player that promises to offer an “intense narrative experience” where the decisions that are made can mean life or death. The title will be formally announced this year. For now, the only thing we can add is that Supermassive Games is a specialist in the development of narrative horror games. Both The Quarry and The Dark Pictures Anthology are examples of this. If we look further back we will see that this is also the studio responsible for Until Dawn.

Secondly we have a project developed by Midwinter Entertainment, a subsidiary of Behavior Interactive. This time we are facing a PvE (player against environment) multiplayer title for teams of up to four participants that will address issues such as greed and the lust for power. Behavior Interactive acquired Midwinter Entertainment in May 2022 and in December of that same year closed the servers of Scavengers, a shooter multiplayer free to play with PvE and PvP elements that didn’t make it past the Early Access phase.

In addition to two games, Dead by Daylight will expand its universe with a film adaptation in collaboration with Atomic Monster Productions (Warren File Universe, Lights Out) and Blumhouse Productions (Let Me Out, Paranormal Activity, Insidious). The project is looking for a director and screenwriter.

We leave the future of Dead by Daylight to talk about the present and the Year 8 roadmap that includes four chapters (two licensed and two original), new survivors, new killers, various in-game events and different adjustments to improve both the gameplay as the quality of life of the title. The first chapter called End Transmission will introduce science fiction in Dead by Daylight and will feature the survivor Gabriel Soma. This content will add the Toba Landing map set on a mysterious planet that will transport players to a unique biome where The Singularity, a new assassin, awaits.

After End Transmission Nicolas Cage will arrive, who will become part of the Dead by Daylight universe playing himself as a survivor. We will have more information about this content on July 5th. Below is the Dead by Daylight roadmap.
