Kyocera, a Japanese electronic device company, has announced that it will exit the smartphone space for home users in 2025 due to low demand for its productssomething that is not surprising considering that, for many, this announcement could be the first time they have heard about their smartphones.
As we read in LiliputingKyocera’s latest financial report mentions that it has halted development of new home smartphones this Marchceasing to sell said terminals during the month of March 2025 to the general public.
However, the language of this announcement is important, as it is repeatedly mentioned that the market for smartphones for the general public is abandoned, since most of the sales in Japan are made to business customers, so the company will focus entirely on these customers rather than trying to stay in a space where their demand is falling endlessly.
This movement comes after learning that the Kyocera’s communications unit has suffered a reduction in sales of 20.8 percent, a decline that compares to last year, but has been going on for years, which is why they’re no longer a serious contender in the mainstream smartphone space.
