It seems that MediaTek will also collaborate with one of the main manufacturers of GPUs in the world, and that is that although Samsung collaborates with AMD for some of its Exynos SoCs, now it is MediaTek who wants to mount NVIDIA GPUs inside their chipsthus ruling out ARM’s GPU designs.
This information, originating from Digitimesalso indicates that this is expected to happen as soon as 2024, something that would suggest that this collaboration has been underway for some time –Because integrating a GPU from another manufacturer into your own design is not a matter of days or months.
MediaTek and NVIDIA will also collaborate in the Windows on ARM (WOA) market where an NVIDIA GPU could work very well, since it is one of the main environments where these GPUs will be used, and could help compete with chips like Apple Silicon, that have spectacular performance despite being a fully integrated design.
NVIDIA suffered a 21% reduction in its revenue for the last quarter of 2022, something that could also explain why the company is looking for other platforms to obtain higher income, as would be the case of this collaboration with MediaTek.
